The Big Draw Festival 2022 – Urban Nature – Drawn In St Annes

Every Wednesday throughout October, 2pm – 4pm, St Anne’s House, free.

The Autumn Season naturally lends itself to warm, bright vibrant colours. For a couple of hours you are welcome to draw, paint, cut, and paste as fast as you are able, on some paper, on the floor, but mainly on the tables.

What’s the theme? Come Back To Colour – nature has a habit of breaking out, even in the City. You could draw birds, bees, leaves, trees, seeds, weeds, and conkers; draw things that look neat, and things you could eat, or something completely bonkers!

Who can join? The sessions are free and open to everyone, all essential art materials will be supplied, just bring your enthusiasm and imagination! Help will be available for anyone that would like it.

Can I get involved before October? In the meantime, anyone wishing to take part can start immediately at home and post their results on Social Media. Drawings, paintings, photographs, collages, mixed media, and digital images are all acceptable. Please use hashtag #drawninstannes when uploading images of your artwork to social media so that I can find them, and #thebigdraw so The Big Draw can find them too.

Who’s running the open workshop? St Anne’s House tenant and artist, Joe Tymkow.

The Big Draw

The Big Draw Festival is a worldwide celebration of drawing! Here at The Big Draw, we promote the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression, and invention. We are the founder and driving force behind The Big Draw Festival, which is a major component of our work in encouraging people to get back to the drawing board!

The Festival is made up of a collection of thousands of creative events, activities, and workshops across the globe run by organisations big and small; from individuals to entire cities! It is you, the Organisers, who make our dreams a reality. The Big Draw Festival
